Top 50 Christmas Songs

Happy Holidays everyone!

Like most families, every year at about this time we all get together to celebrate Christmas.  I have so many warm memories of Christmas growing up. With all the baking, decorating the tree, watching seemingly endless movies. There is one thing my family does that I remember most above all others, that is music.  I am lucky in that my mother and father loved music of all kinds, genres and eras.  I remember listening to the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, Barbara Streisand, Kool and The Gang and much more.  Nearly everything we did as a family involved music of some sort.  Even more so at Christmas time.  We would start generally the first Sunday in December with Christmas tree decorating, and the remaining weekend with baking and visiting and such.

Skip forward a few years,  I am grown up, married and have 2 awesome kids of my own who enjoy music as much as I did growing up.  Not to mention a lovely wife who continually impresses me with her incredible tolerance of me.

I’ve been putting together a list of my favorite Christmas songs for years.  I decided this year I would share my 2012 list with you all.

I hope you will enjoy it.

Wyatt and Maresa Make A Donation

Deann and I are very proud of the Twingles!  A few weeks back, we were talking about what the meaning of Christmas is.  Maresa said “it’s about giving”. Very right!  Wyatt made the call that we should “give”, and make a donation to QB’s like we did last year.  QB’s is a local family oriented sports bar that my family has loved since they opened more that 20 years ago.  Over the past few years, Mike Marcolin owner and managing partner of QB Sports has been accepting Food and Toys on behalf of the Salvation Army.

We hope that you will enjoy this video.

QB Sports is located at the corner of Fairview Street and Appleby Line in Burlington, Ontario and will be accepting non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys until December 22.

Google+ To Add Group Type Functionality with ‘Communities’

Well, finally Google+ is adding something that has been sorely missing since it debuted in June 2011 – The ability to “Group” like minded people together and provide them with a place to communicate on a topic. Today (December 06, 2012) Google announced the introduction of Google Communities to Google+.

What does that mean?

It means that you can create and join “groups” with like minded people, and collaborate with them on a specific topic. Imagine that you are looking to communicate with others on your favorite sports team, or diet, film genre or other topic that interests you. Up until now you would create and share a “Circle”, or make use of the #hashtag (such as #Android) and hope that others may find you. Communities will allow you to collaborate to the larger group either as a public (meaning anyone can see it), or Private post (only group members will see it).You will have the ability to create Events and have live chats via “Hangout”

Sounds to me like a lot of Google “Pages” may now disappear?

Should be interesting to see how this all works out. Google says they are rolling out this ‘preview’ feature today. I read this as not everyone will have access today. As of this post, I have not yet received the upgrade.

Why is it we’re still on Facebook again?
